IT'S AN AGE OLD QUESTION, the chicken or the egg? In this case the chicken was the stunning photography of Angela Wyant, and the egg was the smooth design style of Mitchel Design. Whether you believe in evolution or divine intervention, it is hard to argue against how great this site turned out.

While most design firms would have built a site like this in Flash, with moving boxes and background music, we chose the high road and gave Angela a site that would last – and that doesn't make you want to close the window as soon as you open it.

As always, we kept it simple, with priority number one being that the photography and the design worked together in dynamic harmony. Because we liked Angela so much, we backed up the site with a custom content management system so that she can upload all her content without ever having to call on us. As a fine artist, she was a little hesitant to plunge into anything more technical than a traditional camera, but in no time we turned her into a grateful cyber geek. Just keep working in the darkroom, Angela – who needs another digital photographer anyway.
