First the organization needed a logo, something that smelled of nonfiction and would look good on the spine of a book. Then it needed some identity materials for schmoozing the more profit-driven types at cocktail parties. Finally, it needed a simple website to broadcast its mission and display its wares. It was hard being simultaneously responsible for creating and approving all these projects. After all, there was no client to curse. But we managed. And we’re as proud of the design as we are of the organization and its founder.
